AF & Pregnancy & Labour

Post by Cheryl on November 1st 2009, 6:57 pm

Hi Folks,

My name is Cheryl, a long time ago i set up this forum as i experienced an AF for a ridiculously long period (6 years!!).. my story is here if you want a read http://analfissure.editboard.com/considering-surgery-or-already-had-it-f1/my-fissure-surgery-experience-t4.htm#4

Don't worry my AF hasnt returned, although I am now 34 weeks pregnant and have noticed that through the pregnancy i have atleast 3 large skin tags have formed.. im wondering why, and im also interested to know if the labour process is likely to cause a re-tear? Is there anyone one out there who has gone through this?

I have been healed for over 3 years now i think, so im hoping like heck that my butt is going to be ok sunny

any thoughts are greatly appreciated

Hello Cheryl Very Happy
You are a genius creating this forum. It has helped so many of us in so many ways, and it has helped us stay sane Laughing I think...

Kim and Lecia have gone AWOL both of them, but Cherylk has been a faithful moderator...she's a keeper.

Good luck with your pregnancy Cheryl. We have another boardie who is pregnant as well - Pinky. http://analfissure.editboard.com/considering-surgery-or-already-had-it-f1/lis-t1544-435.htm#45896

Hi Cheryl,
So nice to meet you.
Congratulations on the coming baby . Have you been pregnant before?

I've had 4 children and the hemmie problem for me started all my problems that resulted in my hemmie surgery and resulting fissure. I also think the dr. had something to do with my fissures.

I am wondering if you have had hemmies before? sorry I haven't had time to read your story yet, but will try! These tags could probably turn into hemmies so be very careful.

Best wishes for your health and the baby.

Cheryl - a million thanks for starting this forum! It has been so helpful to me and so many others.

I didn't read your story yet, but I know that my AF developed from childbirth. I had normal vaginal deliveries with each of my 4 babies, but within a few weeks I had hemmies and rectal bleeding after each one. My AF seemed to heal within a few weeks though. However, this past May it came back with a vengeance although not from childbirth. I think it just weakens that area so it's not quite as strong as it once was. I'm having LIS on Wednesday so hopefully it will improve!

If you have been healed for 3 years, you are at least that much stronger. That's much better than just being recently healed! I would say just be careful and take whatever extra precautions you can to avoid hemmies. They seem to be the precursor to the AF.

Do you know if you are having a boy or girl? It's such an exciting time! Take care!

Cheryl,

You did a wonderful service to all of mankind by creating this forum. Various persons have tried to give me credit for starting it, but I was always forthright and stated that it wasn't me who had such a great idea!! Best wishes for your pregnacy and may your butt forever rest in peace while this forum (your legacy) continues! urock

I think you reside in Australia, right? My husband and I were scheduled to take a month-long trip to Australia and NZ, but had to cancel at the last minute because of my butt issues! Hopefully, one day in the future we can try for it again. I was always bothered by the idea of the 16 hour plane trip from the central part of the US! Where in Australia do you live?

Not AWOL, Corsi, just MIA!

Congratulations on the pregnancy, Cheryl! I would say just treat yourself like you have AF and be extra careful in what you eat, but of course, you are eating for two!

hey , congrats.
I just wanted to say my surgeon said if i ever got pregnant again, i would have a c section maybe ask about that xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

my AF was caused we think by a tramatic childbirth with forceps damaging the muscle area so this i think is why he said that xxxx
