Re: Generic Miralax

Sidra,

I've been to both places in 1997 with my husband via our first cruise. But we are going to take different shore excursions this time. Also looks like we might have rain, but at least I won't have to worry about the sun. Cool My husband and I went in a glass bottom boat to see the rays. I don't plan to swim or feed any this time although we saw them fed the last time we went. We are going on a tour of Cozumel (4 hours) and a one hour trip in the Caymans. I have already seen "Hell" and the turtle farm and didn't want to visit those 2 places again. My friend and I also cruised to Alaska via Vancouver in 1999, which she loved. Since my husband doesn't want to cruise, I don't feel that I can be choosy on my destinations if I don't want to go by myself!! My challenge will be to get enough fiber rich foods on the ship!! Sounds fun. I'm very envious of the Alaska cruise, that's big on my bucket list!

Yes, try not to over indulge and have a great time.

Sidra,

I didn't like Alaska, but many people do and continue to cruise there. Have a good trip!

Sidra (et. al.),

I saw this generic Miralax at CVS today and may give it a go after I return from my trip. Thanks for the tip! Cool

I know this has been discussed, but I don't have time to check back old threads - what's the typical daily Miralax dose that you take? I may switch over to that.

I measure mine out by teaspoons and other smaller sized measuring spoons. I take 5 1/2 teaspoons at bedtime (about a capful) and 3 teaspoons mid-afternoon (a little over one-half capful or sachet, as the case may be).

Thank you Cheryl! Right now, taking just one MOM pill each night is working great so I hate to mess with it. I've thought about trying the Miralax and for the price of this generic equivalent, it may be worth it for me.

Speaking of Generic Miralax, I was just at Walgreen's today picking up my fun colonoscopy prep kit, and saw that they just started offering polyethylene glycol in a store brand product called Smoothlax as well. Maybe Miralax's patent just expired or something? I know for sure that product wasn't around 2 months ago when I first started buying Miralax. Smoothlax was about $26 for a 50-dose bottle.

Hey everyone, glad I could help with the generic Miralax tip..
San Antonio was fun, really hot and humid the first day, but then an absolutely perfect 78 degrees and sunny the rest of the week.

NG, I'm now off to Purdue for tomorrow's game..look for me , I'll be the one with a brown paper bag on my head and an orange sweatshirt. LOL

Gonna check out an Irish Pub called Nine Irish Brothers (google it) and have me a Jameson on the rocks after the game..I'm sure I'll need it.

Sidra,

Wasn't the warm weather nice, and don't you wish we could have brought it back with us to Central Illinois?? Glad to read you had a nice vacation!

LOL paper bag with a sweatshirt, hrm that definitely has a good chance of getting you some airtime! Purdue vs. Illinois should be a good game, I've got Illinois for this one, Purdue hasn't been too hot this year. I'd wager that's going to be a celebratory drink after the game Smile

EPIC FAIL by Illinois as predicted. Purdue is a beautiful campus, by the way.

Hi Sidra,

I almost went to Purdue. Was completely enrolled and everything, and then switched my mind at the last minute to attend elsewhere. Here's hoping Illini BB will be more successful than football is/was. Do you think the football coach will get fired??? I'm ready to go somewhere else now that I've returned home safely! Very Happy
