along with valerian root, there is passion flower.
magnesium supplements also help relax the muscles. you just have to take them a few days to get them to work into your system.

Re: Fed up Newbie, Help!!!!
I did have LIS through the NHS, But no pressure test !! Did you Pinky ??
India, my LIS has been the best thing to happen to me, I suffered 2 years so to have LIS was such a relief, It has been 5 months since LIS and I feel the best I have in a long while …KOW
You have been using the cream for a very long time obviously it is not helping right ?
I think you definitely need to look into a second opinion, you need a diagnoses of some sort so you can work you way through this and get the medical attention you need, Don’t take any crap either the NHS is a battle, hold your own and be persistent !
Good luck

what magnesium and how much do you take? I take 250 mgs of a Nature's Own brand and most of the time does the trick but not all...

Re: Fed up Newbie, Help!!!!
i think you can take up to 2 to 3 times the daily recommended allowance. i know some of us here were doing 400-600 mg per day, if not a little more.
as an alternative to taking magnesium, i would recommend adding wakame or kombu or hiziki (seaweeds) to soups or salads to provide you with some natural goodness too.

Re: Fed up Newbie, Help!!!!
thanx for advice, havent tried magnesium but ive ordered some valerian root liquid extract from holland and barrett hope that works. I just feel the longer i leave this the worst its getting, the doctor did suggest more botox, but honestly it didnt do anything for me, ive been struggling to poo this last week, it just wont open up
has any1 even been healed after 2 years of suffering with this.
If the NHS is relunctant to preform the surgery then i dont know where else i could have it done, i have an appointment end of July with CRS, defo going to tell them im going for a 2nd opinion.

Re: Fed up Newbie, Help!!!!
i had success in healing of it but it was a long 5 years...that is four years is when i had enough of it that i finally signed up for surgery but then i crossed paths with macrobiotics and squatting that it seemed to turn things around for me. it took about year 5 to really just feel normal.
i think a big part of my problem was that i was so stressed out about going to poo that i just tightened up even more and well, i was tight assed to begin with, that it just made matters worse.
squatting and being open to yogic breathing while pooing and absolutely only going to poo on my body's time clock - not mine - helped some. combine this with diet and exercise, it complemented one another.

Re: Fed up Newbie, Help!!!!
India,
Sorry for the late reply.I did have LIS on the nhs finally.its a long story and after i got fed up of waiting on the nhs,i saw a crs privately.he was Godsent and saved me.he performed the LIS on the nhs after trying out botox.I did have anal manometry as my fissure was post delivery. He wanted to make sure LIS was the right treatment.
I take magnesium supplements 300mg every night. Not MOM.
How are you now?
