How did Botox work for you?
Botox Poll
I think it is time for those of you who have dabbled in toxins for fissure relief to take our official AFSF Botox poll, which is only semi-serious and just vaguely scientific.
Please, this poll is only for Botox users and former Goths!!

Re: Botox Poll
Well, I don't know if I've been healed yet, so I can't really answer the poll, but I've seen dramatic improvement after 2 sets of shots (although some of that healing may be due to the lactulose/MOM I've been taking).
During my last Dr. visit, my Dr. said I was completely healed, then not too long afterwards, I had a majorly hard BM (during travel), and I bled a whole lot. Not much pain though, and I haven't seen much blood since. So only time will tell how truly effective it has been.
I would recommend it though -- for me, it was a relatively painless procedure (I wasn't knocked out), and I felt fine after leaving the Dr.'s office. No side effects.

Re: Botox Poll
Kim,
I can't answer that poll yet either. I have had 3 shots and the third shot has not kicked in yet. The one thing I know that Botox has made this AF more easier to live with and the spasms are gone. At least I can function somewhat normally now. I would reccommend Botox cause it gives you a jumpstart on healing. It is taking longer for me cause my is chronic and was very deep.

Re: Botox Poll
Well, I've cast my vote. I had two treatments of botox in the first half of '08, and I've been healed for 6 months. Now and then I get some very minor bleeding or irritation, but I think it's just new little fissures that come and go. It's nothing like what it used to be.

I have had 3 Botox shots, the first one did not work at all. The next 2 kind of worked, but I have retore a lot and now the botox is out of my body and I bleed every day. Will have LIS soon.

Re: Botox Poll
I too have tried botox 3 times. The second one made me looser for about 3-4 days after that tight as ever before. Totally useless for me the other times. So it will be answer I tried Botox but it did not heal me.

Re: Botox Poll
Since so many folks have had botox lately, I thought I would give this thread a bump. Hopefully you all can cast your votes soon?!

Re: Botox Poll
I am only one week into my Botox, I couldn't really respond to the poll yet. I did want to say that I do notice a difference when having a bm. It comes out pain free and much easier. I was never one to feel spasms at all anyway, so I can't comment on that. I read everyone talking about spasms, but I don't think I ever felt anything. So far, so good with the Botox. I will keep everyone updated as time goes by. I don't have a follow-up with my CRS for another 3 weeks. I will update the progress then.
