advantage of probotics capsules??

i had a thread started on these awhile ago,im thinking of the digestive advantage pills,im scared that they will create more gas than i already have!! what do the probotics do and how do they help your GI? seems that theyd make you worse as there are more culture things to create gas??

Probiotics in general will help aid in digestion and promote a healthy balance of “ good” bacteria in your gut.
You may well experiance more gas to begin with but hopefully your tummy will find balance and your symptoms will not be so apparent

· Milk, fermented or otherwise
· Miso
· Tempeh

Reasons why you need probiotics:

· The chlorinated water that we drink kills off our naturally occurring intestinal flora.
· We are exposed to way to many antibiotics in the meat that we eat since farm animals are injected with copious amounts of it to stave off disease.

Have a google of charcoal tablets too

never had any luck with charcoal tablets,ive tried them several times,i may need to take more than the reccomended amount of those?? im gonna look for the dig.adv.this weekend...thansk for the info...

i need those pills, i cant eat yogurts, i will get my good neighbour to get some tomo, he always pops in on a sat, to see if i need anything. puts me to shame though as he will be 72 this yr, he`s one tough cookie.

Guys - if you start taking probiotics in a pill form - buy ones that are first -refrigerated , second - that have special coating that can survive stomach acids and open in the guts.
If you take probiotics by mouth without protecting them, good (same as bad) bacteria are mostly killed by HCl in your stomach .

Also, if your flora is already misbalanced - just eating regular fermented food will not help much. You need probiotic supplementation in "millions" for some of them to actually reach your guts and make a difference.

hi cherylk i seem to ave up nd down days at the mo, theres days i feel rather gd, then other days am just so tired etc. they have taken me off the anti-b`s at long last. been off them for 2 days nows, but have had really bad b/ms since yesterday, nurse today says it will be coming of them, she said 2/3 days should be the end of it.if not stool sample to check for c diff in my gut, which would mean more anti-bs .

still take my movicol everyday morning nd nite, and still on painkillers, ave got my mri scan on monday, but am ot sure if i will get results or any indication then or will i have to wait until i see the specialist in 2 weeks time or so.its all ot so clear.
what can a mri pelic scan see anyway, can it detect poylps, hemmies, will it even see my intestines. i dont have a clue.
nurses are happy though at my healing wound. todays nurse thought another 2/3 weeks would see the end of packing, it still bleeds everyday, but not as much. i still feel sore inside, after b/m is worse it makes me jump.
my fissure have been behaving of late, but the nurses comfirm there still there.
still losing weight, 3lbs this week 11stone 10lbs now. which is scary, but i try not to think about it to much, i need to try and promote my bodyy to heal.

I'll keep praying for you! You have been through so much pain and agony!! Don't worry too much about the weight. When I was too thin about a year ago I just felt like I was dying physically, emotionally, and mentally. Now, one year later, I'm a different person worrying about my bigger thighs and butt size!!! Once you get your butt and digestive issues squared away, I am sure that you also will put back on the pounds. My doctor said I am right now at a perfect weight. Could you read some books while you are healing? Right now I am reading a book called "Spiritual Healing." It talks about the mind/body/spirit connection which I truly believe in and also the meaning of illness. There may be similar books at your local lib where I picked up the book.
Sounds like your nurses are smart, and I know Tab has lots of confidence in Mr. Smith. At least you are back on the board now and can chat with all of us. Best wishes for continued healing and feeling better!!

he has came back with tablets called bio-acidophilus, are they the right ones

Hey buddy - good morning (here LOL). You know - they come from different manufacturers and under different names - and if they were refrigerated and on the box it says "enteric coated" they are "it" !!! Even if they were "just " refrigerated - it means that they are of very good quality and potency and some will survive your stomach than !!! You can Google more info about your particular brand and manufacturer !!! Also, never underestimate the power of the "internet" LOL - you can find any supplement that is to your liking and order it !

For now , just start taking those , and in the mean time do some research if you feel like it

can these tablets cause a bloating feeling in the lower gut. just been feeling bloated, and there the only new thing i interduced to my system. if so any pills to combat this that wont interfere with the probotics
