Newbie looking for help

Post by chrishell on December 29th 2009, 1:45 pm

I am so happy to have found this site. I have suffered (way more than expected) for the last 4 months. I am glad to find (misery loves company?) that there are others who know my pain! Perhaps you can help with ideas on how to lessen the pain of this thing!

Newbie myself but I take an osmotic laxative and a fair few glasses of water to soften things up, plus I use a product (called Lepicol over here) which contains pyslium husks, and I eat plenty of veg to ease the passage!

Not sure of the name of the osmotic laxative (this works by drawing moisture into your stools whilst in your bowels which is why extra water is a good idea) in your area but I think its called Movicol. One of the experienced people on here will be able to give you the name. Also there is a sticky topic on the site which gives you a lot of info about this problem.

ya stool softeners and a high fiber diet will soften up your stool so it can be less painful during bm's.Applying lidocaine cream on the fissure with a couple of tylenol can help with the pain if its really bothering you.
