Sexual function and anal fissures

Hello,

I was wondering if there are any males out there that have experienced decreased libido or ED after having an anal fissure. I noticed it shortly after mine (AF) came up. I'm an athletic, otherwise healthy guy, and the only reason I can think of thats causing this problem is the Af. Any insight would be helpful.

its more pyscological, as the anus is a highway of nerves leading even to your meat and to veg.

so it could simply be your stressed about getting an erection incase you feel pain...

depression caused by fissures could be a problem to.

do you take any sort of A/D`s, if not maybe worth try to talk to your doc about this...

Hi gatoface, I haven't experienced decreased libido, but the pain from getting an erection tightens the sphincter and causes pain not to mention ejaculation which sends the sphincter crazy, this could be worrying you and putting you off sex or masturbating, the best thing to do if possible is administer some Rectogesic (if you have been prescribed that) before sex, it works for me and quells the pain as the sphincter is in relaxed mode,as I say, this works for me and might not work for others, good luck anyway

I didn't have any problems like this but I can definitely imagine it happening. When my fissure was real bad that area just never felt very "clean" which isn't exactly a very sexy feeling. Also, for a few days when my fissure was totally out of control (this was before I began any form of treatment on it), it was in constant severe pain and any kind of pushing, even during urinating, would make my sphincter extremely uncomfortable. I didn't exactly engage in any sexual activity for those few days since I was too busy laid up in bed in agony, but I don't think it would have turned out well had I tried.

Hey guys - sorry for the "girl" intruding this thread - but I agree with everything said ! Pain definitely can lower a libido in males and females alike !!! It is absolutely normal side-effect but very bothersome
and is just one MORE thing to bother us and worry about

I could not even imagine having sex while I had active fissure - I was in so much pain - I hardly had a will to eat or live, to be honest and "fooling around" was really not on the "top of my priorities"

But - Gato - if you WANT to have sex but can not due to ED - why not ask your doctor for some extra help (Viagra) !? It can maybe even lower your sphincter spasms , you know ; ) and increase blood flow in that region and help you heal ; ) !!!

If I can remember it says on the pamphlet that came with my nitro that is unsafe to take viagra while your on the nitro.Just be safe and do some research or ask your doctor before mixing the two.

I think that Nitro in this minuscule concentration should have no interaction. Actually , I think they have same "action" and that is why they should not be mixed since blood pressure can fall to low. Also, he might stop using Nitro for one day and take Viagra that day and have sex. Just a matter of logistics - BUT - thanks for pointing that out : ))) !

Ya I suppose it's a matter of logistics.You can have a quote "sex day" and stop the nitro use for just a day to pleasure yourself
