| | softeners/laxatives | May 16th 2008, 2:30 pm by val | okay, I know this is a silly question when I've had this thing nearly a year, but are softeners/laxatives really necessary when constipation isn't an issue?
I always get the dose SO wrong and it will work perfectly one day and yet the same dose the next day will have me rushing to the bathroom all day!
Where am I going wrong???

Do some of you drink alcohol even though you have a fissure? Since I am feeling real good today I am considering drikking a little. I am of course scared that it will make things a lot worse.

| Ointment stats/idea | May 15th 2008, 10:06 am by cherylk | All,
I am getting addicted to this forum and am not getting other things done that I need to do, but that is my problem. At any rate, I had a couple of ideas:
Would it be helpful to compile stats on responses to ointments? I realize that the info could be meaningless as we are all individuals with different body chemistries. For example, if we conducted a poll re: ...

| AF Diet/Excercise | May 7th 2008, 7:19 pm by cherylk | All,

More than that bothers my irritable bowel problems and causes me stomach pain. A year ago I was taking in between 35-40 grams daily. I try to eat an apple daily, whole grains (wheat, r...

| Sitting vs Standing | May 11th 2008, 8:29 pm by Melissa | Hello All,
Trying to figure something out. My husband can work in the yard all day in no pain while he is standing. He sits for 5 minutes and the fissure annoys him. Before he couldnt stand either now he can. Is that a sign of healing?

| fistula?? | April 11th 2008, 10:13 pm by juney | so i've been doing really well lately, keeping up with the MOM every night and having relatively little pain but still the same old annoying "discomfort". i looked down there today for the first time in a long time. as i was getting in there to spread the area open to see the end of the fissure, a little bit of white mucus came out. not much, just a little clear discharge i guess.

| Treatments and success % | May 12th 2008, 3:04 am by Fissulyna | Chemical sphincterotomy has been attempted using a wide range of agents, including nitric oxide and botulinum toxin. Since anal fissures are characterized by spasm of the internal anal sphincter and a reduction in mucosal blood flow, the aim of treatment is to relieve ischemia by reducing resting anal pressure and improving mucosal perfusion.
It has been shown that a local applicati...
